Questions about batt insulation
Not worse, different. Batt does not air seal, so it belongs in assemblies that are sealed some other way. In a vented floor or a new-build wall behind a good air barrier, it is the sensible spend.
It depends on the assembly and which side is warm. We spec it as part of the scope rather than defaulting to plastic everywhere, which causes more problems than it solves.
Yes, sagging or fallen floor batt is one of the most common calls we take. We pull the old material, fix what let go, and refit it so it stays up.
