Questions about crawl space encapsulation
Often, but not always. If the space still reads high after sealing, a small conditioned-crawl dehumidifier finishes the job. We tell you at the walkthrough rather than selling one by default.
In most homes, yes. The smell is damp ground and damp framing venting upward through the floor. Seal the ground and the rim, and the source goes away.
The walls. In a sealed crawl space the perimeter becomes the boundary, so the foam goes on the stem wall and rim, not between the floor joists.
Most crawl spaces are done in one to two days. Larger or low-clearance spaces take longer.
